About i-did
What we do
From textile waste to valuable product
In our i-did Factory, textiles are given a second life. We process discarded workwear, natural materials, and other textile streams into sustainable felt. This felt forms the basis for all our products: from acoustic panels to bags and laptop cases.
Because we handle everything under one roof, from design and production to finishing, we can flexibly respond to our clients' needs. This way, we help companies utilize their waste streams sustainably or enhance their offices, stores, or organizations with products that are both sustainable and socially responsible.
Every step in the process contributes to our dual impact: less textile waste and more employment.
The birth of i-did
When founder Mireille Geijsen saw that her highly educated Kurdish friend, a refugee, was not given the opportunity to participate in our society, she decided that things had to change.
In 2009 she founded i-did: a place where people can participate again through work.
What began as a slow fashion label, with the arrival of Michiel Dekkers in 2012, grew into a company with a clear mission: transforming textile waste into something new. This is how our felt, made from recycled textiles, was born: the foundation for sustainable, socially responsible, and stylish products.
Sustainable and social down to the core
i-did transforms textile waste into valuable products and provides employment for people who have not worked for a long time, or never. This way, we combine sustainability and social impact in every product. In our i-did Factory, we process recycled textiles and natural materials into felt. In our workshop, this felt is used to create (acoustic) interior and lifestyle products, all under one roof in the Netherlands.
How we work
Sustainable, social and transparent
At i-did, we're all about sustainability. We collaborate with companies and organizations that want to transform their textile waste into value. With our own factory and workshop, we control the entire process: from processing textiles to creating new products. This way, we can guarantee that everything is done fairly, locally, and with care for people.
Our working method is clear:
- We collect residual textile flows and process them into new felt.
- We design and produce sustainable products that are both functional and aesthetic.
- We produce locally, with attention to people and the environment.
We believe in open collaboration: our partners know exactly what happens to their textiles and where they end up. This creates a product with a story and a win-win situation.
Whether it concerns acoustic solutions for offices, promotional gifts or recycling workwear, at i-did we demonstrate that sustainable and social entrepreneurship can go hand in hand.
Making an impact together
More and more organizations are choosing i-did to sustainably utilize their textile waste. Whether it's used workwear or residual textiles, we transform waste streams and ideas into products with a story and social impact.
This is how we work together:
- We help you design and implement products that suit your organization.
- We make sustainable interior and lifestyle products from textiles that would otherwise be wasted.
- We deliver with clear agreements and complete transparency about the process.
By collaborating with i-did, you make a tangible contribution to a more sustainable and social society, while receiving products that tell a story and make an impact.
