Why wool felt?
Wool felt isn't a standard material. Thanks to its insulating, acoustically absorbing, moisture-regulating, sustainable, and recyclable properties, wool is ideally suited for interior design projects , office furnishings, acoustic applications , or lifestyle product design. Moreover, it helps close the loop: residual wool is given a new life, preventing waste and adding value.
For companies, project furnishers, or designers, wool felt is a smart choice: you're not only choosing quality and functionality, but also a social and circular vision.

Production & chain: transparency from sheep to product
1. Collection & selection of wool
The wool comes from Dutch sheep. It's a byproduct of shearing: the sheep aren't bred specifically for wool. Without it, this wool would often be lost. The wool comes from the Dutch Wool Collective.
2. Processing & delivery
The wool is sorted and washed in Europe, after which it is delivered to i-did in The Hague. Here, we ensure the felt is of high quality and suitable for various applications, from interiors and acoustics to lifestyle products.
3. Social entrepreneurship
At i-did, we employ people who haven't worked for a long time, or haven't worked at all. They receive guidance and coaching throughout the production process. This way, we connect sustainability and circularity with social impact, with a focus on personal development.
4. Final product & customization
The result is a beautiful, natural wool felt that can be used immediately or processed further. It is cut to size and processed into panels or products, depending on the project.
