Recently, i-did and the Factory joined the trade association Vereniging Herwinning Textiel (VHT). The association represents and promotes the interests of 95% of professional textile recycling companies in the Netherlands.
With the associated KIWA certification, i-did can demonstrate compliance with laws and regulations and provide insight into the origins of collected textiles.

VHT connects policymakers and producers
VHT members in the Netherlands ensure that as much textile as possible is collected, sorted, and/or processed. Think about the collection bins in your neighborhood.
About 85% of collected household textiles in the Netherlands are processed through one of the affiliated members of VHT.
The VHT's primary tasks are to promote collaboration, exchange knowledge, and ensure (textile) quality. The VHT proactively engages with policymakers and producers to make its voice heard in the political arena regarding the quality of textile production and processing.
“We are pleased that we are working together to structurally improve the quality of supplied textiles.”

Reuse as the norm in the textile chain
The i-did Factory relies heavily on the quality of consumer clothing supplied to process it into high-quality recycled felt. The better the quality of the old clothing, the more felt products can be made.
Together with its members, the VHT (Association of Dutch Textile Manufacturers and Suppliers of Textiles and Textiles), i-did is committed to focusing more on quality during collection, sorting, and recycling processes. This will help establish reuse as the standard throughout the entire textile supply chain.
i-did Factory: the textile mountain as the start of something new
The i-did Factory is unique in the world and brings a fully circular felt production chain under one roof. Even small quantities of old textiles are processed into recycled felt.
This felt forms the basis for social entrepreneurship: creating employment for long-term job seekers.
