Last night, several awards were presented during the thrilling finale of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program. In the Social Impact category, the jury described the winner as "a family atmosphere within the organization, which restores confidence in the participants, combined with the international ambitions to expand further."
Then the spotlight shone on the i-did'ers in the room. Michiel Dekkers and Mireille Geijsen joyfully climbed onto the stage to accept the award. We consider it a crowning achievement for hard work and demonstrating that impact-driven entrepreneurship, especially in these times, can win.

The jury was touched by the family atmosphere
Claudy te Boome (Responsibility & Sustainability Leader at EY) presented the Social Impact Award together with Ruben Walker of African Clean Energy. Claudy: "At the opening of the new factory, I was immediately struck by the family atmosphere that gives people who are distanced from the labor market renewed confidence and allows them to feel part of society."
She continues: "That, in combination with processing textile waste into felt, which reduces the burden on the environment, made us decide to make Mireille Geijsen and Michiel Dekkers (i-did) the winner of the EY Social Impact Award 2022. "
