Warande: from old care jackets to bags with a story

The old workwear from the Warande healthcare institution recently got a new lease on life. After years of loyal care, the old care jackets were felted at the i-did Factory to create their own Warande you-felt. The staff received the bags made from the felt as a gift last week. A wonderful collaboration that we're happy to share with you.

Making an impact together

At i-did, we love it when companies choose to make an impact together. At the Warande healthcare institution, which provides care to the elderly in Bilthoven, Houten, and Zeist, sustainability is one of their strategic pillars.

With their own Warande felt and the 1,500 Yohannes bags, Warande has saved approximately 841,500 liters of water. In addition, the used industrial textiles were saved from incineration, resulting in a CO2 reduction of approximately 698 kg.

Warande also contributed to the personal development of the participants who worked on this project. Participants worked in both the i-did Factory and the studio. They work independently to make beautiful bags from recycled felt . Below, you'll find a photo impression of the work at i-did in The Hague and the happy faces of the Warande staff.
